CS pictures and what I'm determined to finish!!

I was so excited to get the new CS at Country Comes To Town yesterday and get a couple of pictures posted in between helping customers that I forgot to take pictures of Jen's article until I got home. Her home is soooo perfectly prim! It's a great issue, so grab a cup of coffee or tea and sit back and read all about Jen and her home. This issue makes me want to do some redecorating at home.
I'm blessed because that's what I do for a living. I work at a store here in Fayetteville, NC called Carolina Window Fashions/ Country Comes To Town. We sell custom made blinds, shutters and window treatments but best of all we have over 6000 sq ft of antiques, primitives and reproductions. We have things arriving daily so our displays are always changing. A simple crock collection or pie safe is reason enough to completely redo a display. And on occasion certain pieces that I form an attachment to follow me home.
Now here is a x-stitch that I am determined to finish. I'm embarrassed to say that I purchased the pattern at Hobby Lobby about 5 years ago, started it, packed it up for storage due to a move and completely forgot it till recently. Just let me say that my eyes aren't what they were 5 years ago, but finish it I will.
Whew, sorry to be long winded. I hope everyone is having a fun and safe weekend.
Till next time,
God bless,

I can't believe it's Thursday already! Where did the week go? I made my first pantry cake on Tuesday using Karen from KM Primitives recipie, I think it turned out ok for my first attempt. I also made some grungy candles but you can't see them very well in this picture. I'm not sure how I'm going to display them yet but for now I have them sitting on a cooling rack that I bought from the store I work at, Country Comes To Town. I've also been busy working on displays at the store and post new pictures on our blog, countrycomestotownnc.blogspot.com. I also painted some paper mache eggs for the big bowl in the center of my dining table. The crock with the flowers in it also came from my work, one thing checked off my wish list. I've always wanted an old school desk and I finally found one at Prim and Proper, thanks Tandra. Well that's it for tonight, just a quick post. Now I'm gonna pop in on a few of you guys to see what you've been up to this week.
Till next time, be safe and God bless: )

Theres always things to do on Tuesday

This basket and crock came into the shop where I work and immediately I knew they were coming home with me. One of the advantages of working at Country Comes To Town is that we usually get dibs on things our many vendors bring in for consignment. That's how I came to have the throw in the basket. Today is my day off and I was planning a perfectly lazy day but it never seems to go that way. After dropping Ashton off at school I headed back home to feed the dogs then headed out to pick up a list of sewing items she needs for drama class. I know, right, sewing in drama? So of course I had to make a GW stop, nothing there. I then stopped at Hope Harbor and found a few things there. Not sure what I'm gonna do with some of it but I thought the basket would look great with some geraniums or spring flowers and maybe a prim label for the jar. The little plaque was kinda a funny find. When I saw it laying on the shelf I thought it looked like the kind we once sold in our store and when I flipped it over, sure enough, the price was in my hand writing. Small world, huh? Then I was off to Aldi and Walmart for a bit of grocery shopping and since I was so close, I just had to go by Prim and Proper to see what was new. Wow! The shop is looking awesome! There's a red prim pie safe that I'm still drooling over. Ahhh, what I wouldn't give. I behaved myself though, I put a punched tin light and a large wall basket that I plan to do an arrangement in for my front door on layaway and came home with this prim gathering basket to sit on the bottom shelf of my coffee table to hold magazines. The candle hugger I ordered from Karen at KM Primitives was waiting in the mailbox for me. I love it and can't wait to order a penny runner next. I already have one picked out. Thanks so much Karen, I love it!

My shades of brown

After seeing Tammy's shades of brown at a Primitive Place, I was inspired to look for shades of brown in my home. I was surprised that I took so many pictures and can't wait to see what other bloggers post. I hope everyone is having a great Sunday and that where ever you are the weather is sunny and beautiful.

A Simple Life

Look what was waiting in the mail for me when I got home from work yesterday! Someone shopping in the store I work at had picked up a copy from Jenny at Just Country and let me look through it. As soon as I saw the articles I was drooling but once I read that a couple of them were in Tennessee I immediately emailed for a copy of my own. I was so excited to read that one was on the Museum of the Appalachia not far from Knoxville which is about 30 miles from where I grew up. My husband & I are planning a trip to visit my grandmother in Tennessee this spring and since we will be so close we plan to also visit the museum. Thanks so much Jill for the wonderful articles and pictures and for getting my copy to me so fast.
Also, there's a new blog countrycomestotownnc.blogspot.com, I hope you will take time to stop by and welcome them.

How do you spend your leisure days?

Sundays and Tuesdays are my off days. I spend my Tuesdays much the same, up at 5:30, take care of the dogs, cup of coffee in had as I sit at the computer to catch up on everyones blogs, laundry, housework, and dropping my daughter Ashton off at school. Whew, and that's just the first few hours. And of course there's always the trips to Goodwill, Salvation Army and Hope Harbor to see what treasures they have. Sometimes I hit the jackpot, sometimes I only find a few things. But I never seem to go home empty handed. Then theres the stop at WM for whatever miscellaneous items we need and then I go home to work on crafts. I've always got a project or three going on, I can never work on just one thing. On Sunday I have a lot of the same things going on but I usually have more time for blogging. Yesterday I decided it was time to bite the bullet and organize all my computer files. Craft projects, items I've downloaded, pictures, pictures and a lot more pictures. I had no idea I had so many pictures or how long it could take to organize them into seperate files. Oh my! It took most of the day and I got quite a lot done and of couse I took breaks to peak in on some of my favorite blogs. I guess you could say I'm a bit addicted to it. It is a lot of fun to see what's going on with everyone and it's also relaxing for me. Ok enough of that. I hope to get more pictures posted tomorrow now that I can find the ones I want a lot easier. I hope everyone had a great weekend and has a safe week.
God bless.
