Happy Mothers Day!!

I want to wish everyone a very happy Mother's Day!
I also wanted to share a few of my favorite pictures.

Me, Tish, Ashton, Erik and my grandmother Madge in FL.
Me and Ashton at Kure beach NC.Me and Tish at her wedding in FL.Me and Erik in FL.
I can't believe it has been just over a year since we have all been together. Tish and her husband Dan live in Pensacola, FL, Erik and Ashton live here in NC with me and my grandmother lives in TN. So as you can guess it is very difficult to get everyone on the same schedule for a visit but we are trying to plan a surprise visit to my grandmothers soon. Ashton leaves in just over a month when school is out to visit her dad who is currently stationed in Italy. She is excited to see him of course but not so sure about leaving for the whole summer. She and I have never spent more than 3 weeks apart and that was very hard for both of us. I keep telling her that once she gets there she'll be so busy that she'll get over being homesick and that we will of course talk often.
Hopefully we can bring my grandmother here for a visit this summer. She and I are very close, she is like a mother to me and we haven't missed a Sunday talking on the phone since I moved from Tn in 1989. We also talk every Tuesday, so I guess you can say we're very close. She means the world to me, she has always been there for me for all the highs and lows that life has thrown my way. She is my rock.
Ok, enough for now. I didn't intend to be so wordy. I hope everyone has a blessed and happy mother's day and please remember to say a prayer for the moms who are currently deployed and serving our country and can't be home with their children.
Till next time,
Kimberly : )

Birthdays, softball and making new friends!!

It has been a busy week around our house.
My stepson Jason turned 10 last Thursday. We didn't get to visit with him for very long because it was a school night but we did get to have pizza, Transformers b-day cake and give him his gifts before he had to get back home. My other stepson Benjamin turned 20 on Sunday, more cake and gifts before he headed off for a birthday dinner with his mom, brother and sister.  I had a great treat on Saturday at Country Comes to Town. Linda from Behind My Red Door and her super sweet friend Jill stopped by for a visit. I really enjoyed meeting them and look forward to seeing them again in November. This week has been we've been busy with softball. Ashton plays on JV and Varsity so we've been spending a lot of time at the ball field and eating ballpark food for dinner, I'm sure there's a few of you out there that understand what I'm talking about. Her varsity team won their last conference game last night so playoffs start next week. I have had a bit of time for stitching though. I made Linda and Jill  pillows in the new Taylors Farmhouse Attic pattern " Spring Tyme".  I love Jennifer's patterns. Now I gotta make one for myself. I also got my new runner in the mail on Monday from Karen at KM Primitives, I can't wait to share a picture of that with you but I'm saving that for my next post because I'm still tweaking that spot.
Till next time,
